    Participants are required to complete the 'Learn to Row' program or have prior on water rowing experience.

    We will row in double, singles or four.

    Season is mid May to mid October, with water temperatures and weather permitting.

  • 2025 Learn to Row

    Participants will learn rowing safety, rowing technique and boat handling

    No previous experience necessary.

    When is it?

    There are 3 program options (8 lessons of 1.5 hours in each program, 12 hours total):

    CREW 1: Monday & Wednesday
    July 7 – July 30, 6:00pm – 7:30pm

    CREW 2: Tuesday & Thursday
    July 8 – July 31, 6:00pm – 7:30pm

    CREW 3: Saturday & Sunday
    July 5– July 27, 8:00am – 9:30am

    What does it cost?

    $245.00 (Note: The fee includes membership in Rowing Canada Aviron and Row New Brunswick)

    How many people can sign up?

    Lessons will be provided in a 4 person rowing shell. We will accept up to six people per crew. Sign ups are first come, first served.

    How fit do I have to be?

    We welcome participants 15 years and up, of all abilities and fitness levels. Participants less than 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult participant. You must be able to swim 30 metres. Some freedom of movement is required for getting into and out of the boat. Crews will also carry their boat to the water.

    What do I wear?

    Close fitting shorts (spandex bike-type shorts are ideal) or tights, and a t-shirt (with a sweatshirt or fleece if it is cold). Remember to wear/bring socks and a water bottle.

    How do I keep rowing after Learn to Row?

    Graduates can register for the Novice Program. Details will be discussed at the end of Learn to Row sessions.

  • Novice Program - Continue your Learning

    Requirements: Learn to Row (LTR) graduate or previous rowing experience. Ages 15+

    The Novice program is geared towards rowers who have either recently graduated from a Learn-to-Row course or are coming back to rowing after some time away from the sport. All registrants become a full member of the club and membership lasts until March 31, 2026.

    Participants of this program will hone their boat-handling skills, improve their technique, learn how to scull and build their rowing fitness to help them reach their rowing goals in a fun and engaging environment.

    The Novice program has four rowing practices per week (days and times to be determined), until the end of the rowing season. To get the most out of their rowing experience, participants are welcome to come to all four practices per week; however, attendance at each practice is not mandatory.

    Safety: All Novice sessions are taught by a qualified coach.  Members registered in the Novice program can only row during programmed practices.

    Four Bridges Rowing Club - Visitors Policy

    Goal: To permit an insurance framework and a financial structure for visitors from out of town who wish to row occasionally.

    Purpose: Occasionally, visitors from out of town visit Grand Falls and want to row. They should be permitted to row, assuming that they already know how to row and are a member of another rowing Club.  

    Applies to: All people who are not members of the Four Bridges Rowing Club who wish to use Club equipment.  

    Policy:

    1.     Please try and provide us with at least seven (7) days notice so we can arrange a crew to be available for you to row with.

    2.     Visitors must sign a waiver, using this Activity Waiver form.

    3.     Visitors must pay a fee of $30 per seat per outing that they plan to row. The fee should be made by e-transfer to info@fourbridgesrowingclub.com.

    4.     If it is your first time rowing in Canada this year, your first guest rowing pass will include a $39.40 Rowing Canada and RNBA annual membership fee.

    5.     Visitors may row any Club boat, provided that they can show skill in that boat as demonstrated to the Club official (Board of Directors or Coach) who guides the visitor to the equipment.

    6.     Visitors must obey all Club Rules, the by-law, Code of Conduct and Transport Canada Safety Regulations concerning equipment to be carried in the boat (all of which may be found on the FBRC Website).

Fees cover the period of April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 and include membership in Rowing Canada Aviron and Row New Brunswick ($39.40).

Refunds:

The FBRC does not issue refunds of program fees. Under special circumstances, a program fee may be partially refunded based on provision of timely, officially documented medical reasons, which cannot have pre-existed at the time of joining FBRC. This decision is solely at the discretion of the Board, and subject to deduction of fees committed on behalf of the registrant, such as Row Canada and Rowing New Brunswick membership fees. A $10.00 administrative fee will be deducted from any refund.
